If you haven't seen the news on Facebook, Veteran Pen Pal Project has teamed up with Wreaths Across America for their initiative to help place a wreath on every veteran grave. WAA is an incredible organization that places an emphasis on remembering the veterans that have passed, honoring the veterans that are still with us, and teaching the next generation about the sacrifices that are made in the name of freedom.
Join us in person in December in NC
On December 16th the Veteran Pen Pal Project team is going to be gathering with Wreaths Across America volunteers at Carolina Biblical Gardens in Garner, North Carolina. The address is 1530 Creech Rd Garner, NC 27529, United States. We would love to have volunteers join us at 12:00 PM for the wreath laying ceremony, and the laying of the wreaths will follow. If you would like to volunteer please mark yourself as interested on the Facebook event that we have created to track volunteer numbers and provide immediate updates. A second step, that isn't required, but helps out Wreaths Across America is to sign up as a volunteer on the Wreaths Across America site.
Find a cemetery in your state
If you are not able to travel to the Raleigh North Carolina area you can always find a veteran cemetery where you are located to volunteer at. All wreath laying events will take place on December 16th, but times vary by location.
Sponsor a wreath
There are multiple ways to show your support for Wreaths Across America and Veteran Pen Pal Project through sponsoring a wreath. When you click on the red button to sponsor a wreath you will see a pop up that gives you the opportunity to purchase a wreath to be donated to Carolina Biblical Gardens. Below the main option to sponsor a wreath you can see additional ways to purchase a wreath - one of which sends a wreath to the cemetery as well as a wreath to your home or a veteran of your choice. As a bonus you are able to leave a message for the veteran that you love, or pay tribute to a veteran that has passed.
Veteran Pen Pal Project and the It's a Military Life Team have set their sites high and would like to sponsor 50 wreaths towards the veteran graves at Carolina Biblical Gardens. There are 2500 veteran graves at this cemetery, so seeing the numbers extend far beyond that would be a blessing!
